Question 4 - What did you learn from audience feedback?
Alongside research, feedback is a very important aspect when building on a trailer. As well as having professional advice from the internet and so on we also gathered information from our peers about our trailer.
Audience feedback
With this feedback giving a critic it gave us awareness as a group to something we may not have touched on beforehand. We concentrated on our setting portraying the mental institute yet didn't pay too much attention to Matt looking too creepy as we thought he portrayed our character well (before hearing otherwise). The person who gave this comment is 40 years old, this isn't our age target audience but improvements could always be made.

This feedback we received in this comment was based around the building of intensity in our trailer. We felt as if this was based around our narrative - in our beginning product Matt's voice over lasted the majority of the duration but we felt although it over rulled the suspense build up of the music; after receiving this criticism we cut the voice over to just the beginning of the trailer and a little bits shown throughout.

Although we were given some minor critics we have still received overall postitive feedback. For example, after our voiceover changed we were told it was used effectively. We posted that we were open to positive and negative feedback yet the majority of our audience's had a general good attitude towards our trailer - We are very happy that after all our hard work our audience see's the effort put in.
Hearing that people would watch our trailer if it was in the cinemas shows that we have created an effective trailer that would appeal to people outside of our media room and that is what we aimed to achieve. Receiving audience feedback helps us as a group so we can learn from them. We got to know what we did well and our strong points throughout the process of our trailer. We also got some comments that critiqued our trailer and these encourage us to learn from them and go back and improve anything that needs to be changed and if we are to do the tasks again we now know how to do better next time to save us from making the mistakes first time round.
Audience Reactions -
Having an audience watch our trailer and being able to screen cast it works to our advantage. This way we can see their true reactions to our trailer and if we felt there was anything that needed to be corrected/developed hopefully our audience would comment on it through our audience feedback at the end of us watching their screen cast. Then we could react to that and make any adjustments that needed to be made to suit our audience (as that's who we're aiming to appeal to after all). We chose people within the sixth form of different ages to watch our trailer as it gave us a range of reactions to react with. This also allowed us to analyse whether our desired target audience was correct.
